Our music walks a borderline between song and composition, folk and chamber music. Our program includes, in addition to our music, information about the history of our project and many lively details about the colorful history of the Upper Midwestern folk tradition. We like to let our audiences know that while we started out playing the Delta blues tunes and traditional Southern standards that drew us to roots music, we began focusing on soulful music from the Upper Midwest when we noticed that there was a dearth of roots music based on the melodies, themes and rhythms of our region's own folk tradition. The group consists of me on flute and bass flute, Doug Otto on guitar and vocals, and Drew Druckrey on guitar, mandolin, resonator guitar, and vocals. All three of us were classically trained in the music program atAugsburg College in Minneapolis, but each of us also brings to our music the influence of jazz, folk, hymns, and blues....
