Pianist Mary Louise Knutson tours regularly with trumpeter Doc Severinsen and his big band, can be heard regularly in the Twin Cities with her group, the Mary Louise Knutson Trio; with area vocalists Connie Evingson and Debbie Duncan; and with a variety of instrumental groups including the JazzMN Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, and the jazz-classical-world-music double quartet, One World Consort. She has performed with such jazz greats as Dizzy Gillespie, Bobby McFerrin, Dianne Reeves, Kevin Mahogany, Ernie Watts, Randy Brecker, Mike Stern, Nicholas Payton, Slide Hampton, and many more. Knutson's latest jazz trio CD, In the Bubble, made JazzWeek's Top 10 and stayed in the Top 50 for 19 consecutive weeks. Her debut jazz trio CD, Call Me When You Get There, charted in JazzWeek's Top 50 and earned Knutson the award for Top New Jazz Instrumentalist in 2001. In 2005, she was a Finalist in the Kennedy Center's Women in Jazz Pianist Competition. Butternut Squash Soup with Creme Fraiche--creamy squash soup topped with creme fraiche.
Second Course:
Berry Blend Salad--fresh spinach, sugared almonds, and fresh berries, served with a raspberry cider vinaigrette, served with sliced baguettes.
Entree Course:
Top Sirloin & Sugarcane Shrimp--6 oz. choice with sautéed mushrooms, paired with skewered shrimp and garlic.
Linguini--tossed with butter, olive oil, and garlic; topped with fresh parmesan.
Fresh Vegetable Medley--Lake Elmo Inn's own medley of broccoli, cauliflower, red pepper, carrots, pea pods, zucchini, and yellow squash.
Dessert Course:
Truffle Chocolate Hearts in a Raspberry Coulis.
We will be pairing Dancing Dragonfly wines with each course.
