Shoop! at Jazz Central Studios

Shoop! is a local vocal jazz group that puts new twists on old standards with a sound that’s a nod to The Manhattan Transfer and New York Voices. Fronting the group are five seasoned vocalists: sopranos Lou Ann Henderson and Amy Olson, alto Karen Sullivan, tenor John Sturtz, and Geoff Thompson singing bass. Individually, the singers have performed around the Twin Cities in local groups such as Harmonic Relief, 5th Avenue, the Phil Mattson Singers and the Minnesota Zephyr Cabaret. Now together in Shoop!, they blend their vocal talents in fresh and complex harmonies, with depth and range.
