(Northfield, Minn. – February 24, 2014) – Hear three of the finest collegiate instrumental ensembles in the nation at the Twin Cities' foremost performance venue.

The St. Olaf Orchestra, St. Olaf Band, and Jazz I ensemble will perform at the newly renovated Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis April 12 at 2 p.m.

Celebrating St. Olaf’s instrumental music programs at the newly renovated Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis on April 12 at 2 p.m.

The St. Olaf Orchestra, St. Olaf Band, and Jazz I ensemble will perform at the newly renovated Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis April 12 at 2 p.m.

The St. Olaf Orchestra, conducted by Steven Amundson, opens the program and will be presenting the entirety of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, “Pathétique.”

The St. Olaf Band, led by Dr. Timothy Mahr, will be performing a program that includes a work by the conductor titled Noble Element; Michael Gandolfi’s Flourishes and Meditations on a Renaissance Theme; the third movement of Joel Puckett’s The Shadow of Sirius featuring flutist Dr. Catherine Ramirez; and Dan Welcher’s Zion.

The afternoon concludes with music in the atrium from St. Olaf's Jazz 1 ensemble, conducted by David Hagedorn and Phil Hey, plus hosted hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
