Hailing from central Pennsylvania, Tim Warfield has been a force on the international jazz scene since the early 1990s. After a third-place finish in the 1991 Thelonious Monk Saxophone Competition, he found himself in high demand. He made several appearances with the likes of Donald Byrd, Isaac Hayes, Dizzy Gillespie, Shirley Scott, Kenny Barron, and many others.

Warfield plays a pivotal role in whatever ensemble he is in: he has played key parts in groups led by Christian McBride, Nicholas Payton, Terrell Stafford, and many others. Warfield has appeared on several Grammy-nominated recordings such as Stefon Harris’ “The Grand Unification Theory,” as well as “Dear Louis” and “Sonic Trance,” by trumpeter Nicholas Payton.
