Come for the next show of the new Larry McDonough monthly Sunday classic jazz series. The Larry McDonough Quartet will perform the music of Antônio Carlos Jobim, Brazilian composer, pianist, guitarist, songwriter, arranger, and singer. Considered one of the great exponents of Brazilian music, Jobim internationalized bossa nova and, with the help of important American artists, merged it with jazz in the 1960s to create a new sound, with popular success. As a result, he is sometimes known as the "father of bossa nova". Come hear Garota de Ipanema (The Girl from Ipanema), Insensatez (How Insensitive), Corcovado (Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars), Orfeu da Conceição (Black Orpheus), Desafinado, Dindi, Wave, Chega de Saudade (No More Blues), Águas de março (Waters of March), and more, along with originals by Larry McDonough and Greg Stinson in the style of Jobim.
