On Wednesday, April 4 at 1pm, NJW is pleased to to be hosting an acoustic bass master class by one of the most masterful musicians on the instrument today: Brian Bromberg.

Very few living artists have experienced the kind of career that Bromberg has. His first big break came in 1979, when at the age of 19, he impressed the great bassist Marc Johnson (Bill Evans trio), who referred Bromberg to jazz legend Stan Getz. He joined the Getz quintet and toured the world. Since then, he has toured, performed and/or recorded with some of the greatest legends of our time, including to name just a tiny few: Benny Golson, Carmen McRae, Diana Krall, Elvin Jones, Herbie Hancock, Joshua Redman, Toots Thielmans.... the list is mind boggling! ...

Bromberg has also played on many notable movie soundtracks and has had a very successful solo career as an artist and a producer. From his debut CD as a leader, 1998's "Basses Loaded," through critically acclaimed titles like "You Know That Feeling" and the accoustic bass manifesto "Wood," to 2011's ambitious solo bass record "Hands," Bromberg has firmly and established himself as one the world's truly elite bass players.
