On Sunday, October 6, NJW is pleased to be hosting the CD release of trumpeter Matt White's debut recording as a leader, "The Super Villian Jazz Band".
White was prominent in the local jazz scene for several years, but has recently relocated to the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area, where he is professor of trumpet at Coastal Carolina University.
The event will run from 3 to 5 pm and admission is free and open to the public. It will feature a performance by the band from the recording, a who's who of some of the Nashville area's finest: Don Aliquo (alto sax), Evan Cobb (tenor sax), Joe Davidian (piano), Jonathan Wires (bass), and another Nashville ex-patriot on drums, the great Jim White!
