An afternoon of piano jazz with two of the world’s hottest keyboard artists! Relish the energy and passion of Afro-Cuban jazz with acclaimed, Cuban-born pianist and composer Chucho Valdés, who just won a 2011 Grammy Award (his fifth) for Best Latin Jazz Album. For this concert, Valdés welcomes special guest Hiromi, the virtuosic young Japanese jazz pianist and composer who has been mesmerizing audiences around the world with her blend of original compositions, jazz standards, and contemporary pop. She will perform here with her Trio Project featuring Anthony Jackson and Simon Phillips.
