Cynthia Sayer has achieved rare status as a jazz banjo performer. As a virtuoso and spokesperson for the instrument, Sayer appeared on the PBS documentary Give Me the Banjo. She is one of the founding members of Woody Allen's New Orleans Jazz Band and has performed in four of his movies. Her performance abilities cemented her place in the National Four-String Banjo Hall of Fame as a contemporary performer.
