This all-star concert and scholarship fundraiser will celebrate the life and career of vocalist Marlene VerPlanck. VerPlanck had many solo recordings and a major career as a studio performer singing backup vocals for such legends as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and others, and recording familar jingles such as "Mm'm Good" [Campbell's Soup], "Weekends were made for Michelob," and "Nationwide is on your side." Regional and WP jazz performers will be featured. All concert proceeds will benefit the VerPlanck Memorial Scholarship.
