About
Geri Allen, the renowned jazz pianist and director of jazz studies at the University of Pittsburgh, died recently in Philadelphia of cancer at age 60. She was scheduled to teach at the residency program at NJPAC this month. Her presence will be sorely missed. NJPAC dedicates this evening as a special performance of the music of Geri Allen.
