About
Saxophonist Sabir Mateen and his band, Omni Sound, will be performing as the final concert in the library’s 2011 Silk City Jazz Festival.
Mr. Mateen has performed with Jazz greats such as Cecil Taylor, The Sun Ra Arkestra, William Parker, Butch Morris, and many others. His music has taken him to Europe, Japan, and Africa as well as all across America. Omni Sound was formed in 2007 and presents another side of Mr. Mateen’s musical conception.
Paterson Free Public Library is honored to present this group as part of our 2nd Annual Silk City Jazz Festival.
