Count Basie Tribute band was created by Ron Aprea in his association with Basie Arranger/Saxophonist Frank Foster. In the early 60s Ron was putting together a big band to learn the best way to play in a big band. Frank Foster and Ron became good friends and Frank used Ron's band to check out his charts before presenting them to Basie for recording. Ron has the most accurate Basie Library around. He wants to keep that great music alive in the public ear.
