Jazz & World Vocal Workshop at Hopkins Center For The Arts

The music in this workshop will combine a cappella music from around the world with traditions from closer to home. We will sing to share with each other the joy, hope, and inspiration of music. We sing because we have to, because we love it, and because we are changed by it! All songs will be taught by rote, so ability to read music is not a requirement.

Your instructor John Mark Harrison is a composer, choral director, workshop leader and teacher. His passion is the search for and development of an American choral tradition that integrates African-American Gospel music, jazz, blues, shape-note, rock and roll, country, and Appalachian music.
