A recent residency at the Grand Canyon inspires Terry Jenoure’s sound map for duet.

Terry Jenoure musician, visual artist, and educator is a 2023 Creative Capital awardee. Influences on her composing range from her Afro-Caribbean heritage to collaborations with luminaries such as Archie Shepp, Leroy Jenkins, Marion Brown, John Carter, Lawrence “Butch” Morris, Andrew Cyrille, Billy Bang, and Henry Threadgill. The 2021 release of her three-CD project The Portal features twenty-seven for mixed ensembles, and her 2023 release is entitled Letters from Papa.

Recent awards have come from South Arts Jazz Touring (2023); NEFA (2022); South Arts Jazz Residencies (2021) and Mass Cultural Council (2021). Terry Jenoure has masters and doctoral degrees in Education. ANGELICA SANCHEZ pianist, composer, and educator has collaborated with Wadada Leo Smith, Paul Motian, Richard Davis, Nicole Mitchell, and Tim Berne among others. The recipient of a Chamber Music America grant and Rockefeller Brothers Pocantico artist residency, her debut recording A Little House was featured on NPR’s Weekend Edition while Float The Edge, featuring Michael Formanek and Tyshawn Sorey, has garnered wide critical acclaim. Angelica Sanchez has a Master's degree in Jazz Arranging from William Paterson University and is on the music faculty at Bard College.
