Join us as we celebrate 40 Years of free Jazz Concerts at the Monmouth County Library!
Saxophonist Virginia Mayhew is a rare forward-looking jazz artist who doesn't mind looking back. As well as her own Quintet and Quartet, she leads the Duke Ellington Legacy Band, responsible for the superb Thank You Uncle Edward (Renma Recordings, 2007) and Single Petal of a Rose (Renma Recordings, 2012).
A segment of Ms. Mayhew's performance will be from her newest CD Mary Lou Williams - The Next 100 Years, a tribute to that groundbreaking pianist/composer/arranger.
