Yet, King developed his own sound and paved his way as the pioneer of the blues-rap genre in the 1990s, winning both Grammy and Country Music Awards. King has also earned his stripes as an actor in films like O Brother, Where Art Thou? and the Ray Charles biopic, Ray.
