Balcony Music Club

Balcony Music Club (or “BMC”) is conveniently located on the corner of Esplanade and Decatur. Although this music venue is in the French Quarter, it isn't technically on Frenchmen, but definitely a part of the Frenchmen culture.

You will find a wide range of music at BMC! Brass, jazz, blues, folk, funk, rock, and country. One great thing about BMC is that its music lineup often starts much earlier than the rest of Frenchmen St, so you can get started closer to midday and happy hour, especially on weekends. And since there's usually no cover, you can pop in for a few songs, take a stroll, and come back at your leisure.

BMC, also affectionately known as the Center Of The Universe, showcases live bands seven nights a week. Since the venue is larger than most in the area, it's usually not as cramped, but on busy nights, you likely will not find seating. In which case you can relax at their indoor/outdoor patio bar, stand, or dance the night away. Either way, the staff is friendly, drink prices are reasonable, the entertainment is always on point and you will not be disappointed.
