CD RELEASE "DUALITY"

Dan Block is one of those rare musicians who is fluent in many different styles and genres. His background runs the gamut from Classical, Afro- Carribean, Latin and Klezmer to traditional jazz where he is considered one of the premier clarinetist in that style. Block's work as a sideman reflects that diversity. He is a regular with Vince Giordano's Nighthawks the most respected of the traditional bands, and has appeared in more mainstream and modern settings with Toshiko Akyoshi, Maria Schneider, Richard Wyands, Tom Harrell and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. He has backed a good number of top flight singers as well, performing and recording with Mchael Feinstein, Rosemary Clooney, Anne Hampton Calloway, Catherine Russell, Leslie Uggams and Bobby Short.
