Emy sings in both Portuguese and English and is known for her music's relaxed vibe and sweet, wistful qualities. In NY ten years ago, she first heard the singers Luciana Souza and Paula Morelenbaum, fell in love with Brazilian music and decided to pursue it further. in New York and has traveled to Brazil to study the music and language.

This is Emy's debut performance at the Metropolitan Room. She performs regularly in NY and DC, including DC's top venues such as Blues Alley, Twins Jazz and Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club. She has performed with some of NY'sforemost Brazilian and jazz musicians including Nilson Matta, Vanderlei Pereira (Toots Thielemans, Rosa Passos), and Hans Glawischnig (Chick Corea,
Miguel Zenon, Duduka da Fonseca).

She is excited to play this show with musicians from the album Lyle Link (alto sax and flute) and David Jernigan (bass) and her current NY collaborators Q Morrow (guitar) and Vanderlei Pereira (drums). This CDRelease Party serves as a bridge between Emy's DC and NY lives.
