Smoker and Haynes’s debut album, QB with special guest Anthony Braxton, was named the #1 recording of 1985 by esteemed critic Kevin Whitehead. Since then, they’ve continued to collaborate in each other’s groups and alongside David Liebman, Drew Gress, Ellery Eskelin, Ed Schuller, Tony Marino, Vinny Golia, and others. Working together in these and other formats for more than three decades, they’ve developed an uncanny and telepathic musical connection. Their duo concerts are rare events—not to be missed!
