On this auspicious occasion, Jazz Standard congratulates our man for the 2010 Grammy Award given to trumpeter Terence Blanchard for “Best Improvised Jazz Solo” on the track “Dancin’ 4 Chicken” from Tain’s Dark Key Music CD Watts. The excitement continues this week with a typically top–shelf Tain quartet featuring saxophonist Marcus Strickland along with pianist David Kikoski and bassist Robert Hurst III.
