Jocelyn Medina Birthday Celwbration at Jazz at Kitano!!
JOCELYN MEDINA is a jazz singer, composer and lyricist whose compositions encompass the musical ethos of many different cultures, with lyrics reflecting a strong social awareness. Her newest CD, COMMON GROUND, fuses jazz harmonies with raga-based melodies from India and polyrhythms from Ghana to create a new and exciting soundscape.
In this special celebration of life event, she'll perform a mix of original jazz/world/funk-infused compositions, Brazilian repertoire and variations on standard and not-so-standard jazz....
