Twenty-five years ago I happened upon the gifts of Daryl Kojak. A QUARTER CENTURY! Who does that in this biz?! Well, we have. And we're gathering to celebrate with a show packed with our personal and fan favorites from a catalogue of 25 years. Our goal is to do what we did the first day we met in Daryl's studio - express ourselves together with every note, every lyric, every moment. We're enormously excited to rejoice in this very long and extraordinarily fulfilling collaboration with you (and, of course, we promise to bring the house down)!

Of course, we're really just kicking off the next 25 years. And we're thrilled to be joined by Sean Conly on bass and Gene Lewin on drums (with whom we've played for nearly all those 25 years!)...

"A little over twenty five years ago, I was looking for a new musical director. And some new musical direction. The jazz 'bug' had bit me and I wanted to expand my musical language. I told everyone I knew I was looking for recommendations (because, alas, I couldn't send an e-blast to everyone - it didn't exist!). Someone recommended some guy named Daryl Kojak and I scheduled a session with him. I don't exactly recall the first song we worked on together but what I do remember is that I felt as if I was being levitated off the floor when he played for me. It was magic. And it has remained magic for a quarter of a century. Literally
a collaboration for the ages."

"Wow 25 years - how did that happen?!! The first time I played with Laurie I was struck by her vocal versatility. Beside the fact that she has pipes for days, she has big ears
and a very adventurous musical spirit. She wanted to explore jazz, so we got down to business plunging into bebop, scat, and, of course The Great American Songbook. It's been an enormously satisfying collaboration. And on stage, Laurie's rich musical theater experience gives her a presence that is kind of unique in the jazz world - she brings theatre to jazz. Anytime we hit the stage I can count on some unplanned magic to happen. It's always a musical adventure, and always a blast."
