Pianist Edward Johnson has been taking New York by storm, in his appearances with Tom Rainey, Tim Berne, Ellery Eskelin, Mark Helias, and Tony Malaby. His musical interests: rhythmic and harmonic language of Elliott Carter, Oliver Messiaen, Morton Feldman, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Jelly Roll Morton, Herbie Nichols, Andrew Hill, Lennie Tristano, and Geri Allen. This is a brand new collaboration and sure to be a memorable debut.
