This February, the renowned Italian jazz pianist, Enrico Pieranunzi and his jazz trio, will be performing in the one of the city’s most intimate venues, The Bar Lounge at The Kitano New York Hotel. Shows will be held at 8-11 p.m. on February 18th and 19th at the Bar Lounge with a cover change of $25 and a $15 food and beverage minimum. Reservations can be made at 1-800-548-2666.
Pieranunzi brings his fusion of refined classical technique and contemporary jazz to New York this February at the Kitano with his trio which includes world renowned bassist Larry Grenadier, a San Francisco native, and drummer Marcello Pellitteri hailing from Sicily. Pieranunzi, born in Rome, has played the piano since the age of 5 and began his professional career in Italy at the age of 19. Influenced by jazz luminaries such as Bill Evans and McCoy Tyner, Pieranunzi has toured throughout Europe from Berlin to Copenhagen showcasing his jazz talents. In addition to his current trio of widely known jazz performers, he has also collaborated with jazz legends such as Franco Ambrosetti, Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, and Phil Woods, to name a few. Currently, Pieranunzi has taken a hiatus from his teaching career as a professor at the prestigious Conservatorio di Musica in Flosinone to return to New York City to perform at the Kitano. ...
