One of the oldest jazz festivals in the country, the North Carolina Jazz Festival, will celebrate its 40th anniversary Jan. 23, 24 & 25, 2020 at the Hotel Ballast (formerly the Wilmington Hilton Riverside) on the bank of the Cape Fear River in Wilmington, NC. The event features internationally known jazz musicians from across the U.S. and around the globe. Thursday night is the Special Event Night featuring different styles of jazz, introducing some "rising your stars" in the jazz world. Friday and Saturday nights will feature our 13 jazz all-stars playing 7 sets of traditional and classic jazz each night, with a different leader on each set. All concerts start at 7:30pm, Thursday is a 3 hour concert, while Friday and Saturday concerts go until midnight....

The NCJF has an extensive jazz education program for local students during the weekend and on Saturday morning there is a brunch for our patrons at which the patron/musicians have the opportunity to play their favorite music with our all-stars.
