Nordnorsk Jazzsenter

Nordnorsk Jazzsenter (NNJS) is a regional production, dissemination and knowledge center for jazz in the three northern counties of Norway. The National Parliament decided in 1997 that “Nordnorsk Jazzsenter will be responsible for the dissemination of jazz in Northern Norway. This also involves responsibility for the work on the establishment of networks for communication of jazz music in the entire region.”

The main purpose of NNJS is the conveying, and stimulation of increasing activity of jazz and related music, working for and with freelance musicians, develop organizers, strengthen the region’s network of venues for jazz, and to run seminars and workshops for big bands, jazz combos and individual musicians
