Andre Vasconcelos
Out of Belo Horizonte in Southeast Brazil, guitarist Andre Vasconcelos has a style very unique and intensely energetic. Throughout his career, he has displayed versatility and proficiency quickly being recognized as one of the most promising young guitarists of the musical scene in the Northeast of the US. Having graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music, Andre was one of the few students ever to be featured in all of the Guitar Night Showcases of the year of 2013 in every genre offered by the prestigious college; Jazz/Blues, Pop/Rock and Funk/R&B. Andre currently co-leads the Hip-Hop Jazz group Crosswalk Anarchy who has gotten big notoriety in the past 2 years having released their first EP "Crosswalk Anarchy" at the legendary Blue Note in New York City for a completely sold out house. Having performed extensively throughout the country Andre has held residencies in distinguished venues such as: Wally’s Jazz Cafe in Boston, The Bitter End in NYC, Tommy Doyle’s in Cambridge to name a few. As a recording musician Andre has worked with grammy award winning engineers Joe Ferla (John Mayer, Pat Metheny, etc) and Fernando Lodeiro (Vampire Weekend, Paul McCartney, etc). As a leader of his own group, Andre was featured on the inaugural edition of the International Savassi Jazz Festival held in NYC, the Outside of The Box Festival in Boston, Green Fest and the NEHBA Festival in 2014. Artists Andre have worked with and/or have double-billed with includes: Guinga, Miguel Zenon, Oz Noy, Keith Carlock, Arturo Sandoval, Lew Soloff, “Swiss” Chris, Vinx, Kendrick Scott, David Binney, Bootsy Collins, Bernie Worrell, Leo Blanco, Fernando Michelin, The Eagles, Paul Geary, Alisson Kraus and many others....
