BLUE NOTE JAZZ FESTIVAL PRESENTS: ANIMUS REXX



Animus Rexx is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and vocalist James Casey whose talents may be attributed to his upbringing in a musical family, education from peers at Berklee College of Music, and experience with an eclectic array of bands including Trey Anastasio Band, 6Figures, and Lettuce. The group is made up of standout musicians in their own right: Yuki Hirano (keys), Randy Runyon (guitar), Reuben Cainer (bass), and Justin Tyson (drums). While each brings a unique style to anything he plays, the synergy among the members was the impetus for Animus. Put them all together onstage or in the studio and the results are explosive. Casey - whose own musical influences span across genres - calls the band a mix of "soul, rock, electro, and blues in a blender...with hot sauce...and bourbon."...
