The Grammy Award-winning Count Basie Orchestra is the “swingingest band in all the land”—an American Institution that’s been thriving for 76 years. NEA Jazz Master Frank Wess (an original member of the Basie Orchestra) guitar giant Bucky Pizzarelli, Bill Charlap, Peter Washington and Dennis Mackrel play Basie small group classics and Dennis Mackrel leads the Basie Big Band and lets the orchestra swing with such favorites as “April in Paris” and “One O’ Clock Jump.”
