Clogs, whose music has been described as “some of the most hauntingly beautiful and spiritually profound chamber music of the last decade” (All About Jazz), present an evening of new music with special guests including Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. Their performance on Saturday, March 12th is part of Merkin Concert Hall’s inaugural Ecstatic Music Festival.

Clogs are four musicians (Bryce Dessner-guitar, Rachael Elliott-bassoon, Thomas Kozumplik-percussion, Padma Newsome-viola) whose music draws on multiple influences and teeters between the classical and indie realms, folk and the avant-garde, composed and improvised styles. Called “pensive, knotty and otherworldly” by The New York Times, the intrepid quartet presents two world premieres for mixed ensemble and choir by quartet members/composers, Padma Newsome and Bryce Dessner....
