After a summer break, Dorian Wallace and His Big Band – an innovative, 17-piece jazz ensemble under the direction of composer Dorian Wallace – comes roaring back for its second season as the resident big band at SOMETHIN’ Jazz Club in Midtown. Since it’s founding in 2010, the band has included local freelance musicians as well as performers of international acclaim, including Seneca Black (Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Charlie Haden Liberation Music Orchestra, The Mingus Big Band), Frank London (The Klezmatics, Frank London’s Klezmer Brass Allstars), and Dmitri Kolesnik (Lenny White Quintet)....
