Pianist and composer Elio Villafranca is at the forefront of the latest generation of remarkable Cuban pianists and composers. His three albums as a bandleader were hits, each staying in the top 10 of the JazzWeek World charts for 11 weeks. As a sideman, Villafranca has worked with leading jazz musicians like Wynton Marsalis, Jon Faddis, and Sonny Fortune. Villafranca’s new album, Caribbean Tinge, drops during this gig at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola. Come check out the Jass Syncopaters in the club before they hit The Appel Room stage in February 2015.
