Commissioned by Edwin Moody, the Awakening Orchestra brings to SubCulture the world premiere of composer Kyle Saulnier's as-yet-untitled Concerto for Violin and the Awakening Orchestra. Saulnier's penchant for extended works and the Orchestra's mastery of his unique blend of composition and improvisation were showcased on their debut recording volume i: this is not the answer. (2014) - an album which has been called "[a] tour-de-force, and one of the best albums of the year" by Karl Ackermann of AllAboutJazz.com. and "a complete masterpiece" by Vladimir Horvat of TerapijaNet.
