Powerhouse drum veteran Ralph Peterson was the last drummer selected for Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, and he has since led a consistently excellent career and worked with dozens of top jazz musicians. Aggregate Prime is his exciting new group featuring some of the finest musicians in contemporary music: Mark Whitfield, Kenny Davis, Gary Thomas, and Vijay Iyer. Each band member has contributed new compositions and arrangements for this project, described as a mix of odd meters and swing designed to challenge the musicians and reward listeners.
