Annual Gala: Ella At 100 - forever The First Lady Of Song at The Appel Room

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2017 Annual Fundraising Gala is a one-night-only centennial celebration of the First Lady of Song – Ella Fitzgerald. Some of the greatest vocalists alive will take the stage to honor Ella through their distinctive artistry. Featured artists include Renee Fleming, Roberta Gambarini, Kenny Washington, Alison Krauss, Camille Thurman, and Cécile McLorin Salvant in duet with pianist Sullivan Fortner. This remarkable group of musicians represents the vast history and future of jazz, and it’s one of the best lineups of vocalists to ever share a stage. The show will be anchored by New York’s House Band – the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. We’ll also be presenting the Jazz at Lincoln Center Award for Artistic Excellence to NEA Jazz Master, tenor saxophone titan Benny Golson.
