Next up is Camila Meza. Camila will joined by Ziv Ravitz on drums, percussion, Pablo Menares on bass, and Masahiro Yamamoto on sax. A native from Santiago de Chile, singer and guitar player Camila Meza, has found a unique way of blending jazz with her wide musical world including latinamerican, brazilian, folk and pop elements. Singing both in Spanish and English, she creates musical landscapes that are full of color, interesting rhythms. deep melodies and felt improvisations. An intuitive and inventive singer and a captivating guitarist, she forms part of a reduced group of jazz musicians that perform their instrument with great dexterity while maintaining a strong vocal presence. "Jazz has been called 'The Sound of Surprise' and Camila Meza surprises with her unexpected conceptions of the beautiful songs she sings, the freshness of her improvisations, her bold rhythmic sense, and the interaction of her voice and guitar with the musicians of her band" - Martin Joseph, El Mercurio
Finally, we welcome Nancy Harms, who will be joined by Shai Maestro on piano, Sam Minaie on bass, and Ziv Ravitz on drums "Nancy’s approach is not easily described or compared. Her early pro gigs—about three years ago—suggested a cautious, sweet-voiced songbird searching for the story in each lyric from the Great American Songbook. And in the past year or so, that caution has dissolved, the songbook has grown to encompass modern jazz repertoire, the still-sweet voice has found new ways to deliver stories such that we hear new lessons in old tales-- just listen to her debut recording, In the Indigo. And if a career’s journey can be defined by the company one keeps, Nancy Harms is on a trajectory that will surely bring her into the realm of the best of modern improvisers." - Andrea Canter, JazzInk "Her voice is warm, with a touch of vulnerability, and a believability...a young jazz singer worth discovering." -NPR Web address: www.nancyharms.com
