The Charles M. Stieff Co., piano has its own American history. Referred to as the poor mans Steinway. Only, actually it stands with Grand Steinways of the same era. Also like Brownstone houses, Stieff pianos are no longer created. During the 1930 perhaps even earlier, one didnt always go to Harlem for the Jazz scene. Brooklyn had one as well. Bedford Stuyvesant had on of the largest Jazz neighborhood in around. Bed Stuy held many venues that housed jazz greats like Thelonius Monk, Randy Weston, Miles Davis, Max Roach, Hank Mobley and others. Brooklyns Paramount Theatre among others held major Jazz Concerts. All eventually changed, and jazz club fizzled out in favor of a different generation of music.
