The whimsically-named, dreamily lyrical group Bryan and the Aardvarks are set to deliver exploratory and inventive new sounds at Cornelia Street Cafe on Thursday, March 20th, featuring world renowned pianist Aaron Parks. Their music combines a hushed intimacy with memorable, singable melodies and a narrative directness that nevertheless leaves space for an expressive improvisation. The ensemble’s sound stems from a wide range of influences such as: Jon Brion, Nick Drake, the Brian Blade Fellowship, and Maurice Ravel to name a few. In pianist Aaron Parks, vocalist Camila Meza, Vibraphonist Chris Dingman, guitarist Jesse Lewis, and drummer Joe Nero, bassist/bandleader Bryan Copeland has assembled a distinctive ensemble able to flesh out his unique compositions.
