From a lifetime of pushing boundaries, leading award-winning projects, and collaborating with a multitude of musical luminaries, guitarist Ben Tyree, returns with his own groundbreaking, jazz/funk/rock trio, BT3 (feat. Jeremy "Bean" Clemons - drums + Kevin Farrell - bass). On Saturday, March 29 @ 10pm, Tyree and BT3 will perform at SubCulture (45 Bleecker St, NYC) to preview music from their forthcoming release, Burn It! LIVE.

Formed in 2009, BT3 has been astonishing NYC audiences at The Blue Note, (the now defunct) Black Betty, The Living Room, Rose Live Music, The Shrine, BAM Cafè and on 89.3 FM WKCR's Live Constructions with their daring and unique style of instrumental, and heavily improvisational jazz/funk fusion. BT3 released the critically acclaimed Ben Tyree/BT3 - re:Vision in 2010 and a live recording of “A Song Of Hope" was featured on a benefit compilation for Partners In Health (raising funds to benefit the earthquake victims in Haiti) called Mizik Pou Dwa Moun: A Burnt Sugar Collective Compilation for the People of Ayiti that same year. The full-length Burn It! LIVE album is slated for release in 2014.

Guitarist Ben Tyree is a performer and composer of virtuosic ability, infectious groove, and eclectic tastes. Born in Washington DC and based in Brooklyn, he leads the abstract jazz-funk trio BT3 while expressing a more introspective side on his classically-influenced solo debut, Thoughtform Variations. That versatility has led to work with artists as diverse as Vernon Reid, Kyp Malone (TV On The Radio), Elliott Sharp, Valerie June and Burnt Sugar: The Arkestra Chamber to name a few.
