Carolin Pook is a contemporary violinist, drummer and composer from Brooklyn. She has been comissioned by the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie to write a 30 minutes piece for large orchestra and the Roy Hargrove quintet and recently to write a piece for free Jazz legend Peter Brötzmann together with 8 classical percussionists. With the Pookestra she created a platform to feature musicians from different scenes and styles, playing music that is either written in a classical tradition or conducted improvisitation. At this concert, the Pookestra will perform music of the recently released CD "HERZKOPF dances", a Tanz-Suite of 4 movements.
