A pivotal figure of the music, trumpet player and band leader Charlie Sepulveda came up in the fertile artistic New York City music scene of the 1970s and ’80s, when Afro Caribbean, avant-garde, jazz, and Latin American musicians were influencing one another and becoming a part of each other’s music. This three-night event features electrifying repertoire from his acclaimed ensemble The Turnaround, and includes a special appearance by Sepulveda’s beloved wife, vocalist Natalia Mercado.
