Rising young composer Brendon Randall-Myers presents a composerly manifesto featuring an eclectic mix of classical, chamber pop, and math rock. The four pieces that comprise the evening’s program embody a different compositional preoccupation. Each pieces was written for and with close friends and longtime collaborators, drawing on shared musical influences, personal idiosyncrasies, and years of work together.

The evening begins with the East Coast premiere of Sustenance, written for Paul Kerekes, which features the piano haunted by its own electronic ghost and flickering fragments of old music Next up is Juiced, written for Friction Quartet, which dramatizes the pursuit of physical perfection by merging the string quartet into a single meta-instrument, followed by Skin, written for Invisible Anatomy, which features a set of songs-within-songs that undress public and private lives in contemporary America. The program concludes with the premiere of a new composition for rock quintet Marateck. Co-written by Jesse Kranzler of Witt and Town Hall, the piece builds and destroys immense structures with ecstatic, unpredictable grooves....

Brooklyn-based composer and guitarist Brendon Randall-Myers is the co-founder of the Invisible Anatomy ensemble and minimal-maximalist punk band Marateck. Praised as "fiercely aggressive but endlessly compelling" by The San Francisco Chronicle and “a compositional tour de force” by San Francisco Classical Voice, Brendon’s music amplifies the raw physical and emotional power of bodies creating sound. A former home-school student in rural West Virginia, Brandon holds degrees from Pomona College and the Yale School of Music.
