A very special concert of music from the upcoming CD “Gendhing for a Spirit Rising”. This symphonic length piece, written over three decades, is an outgrowth of Lopato’s studies of Indonesian gamelan and a subsequent year spent living in Java in the mid 1980’s. It is a true meeting of East and West as distilled through this eclectic composer/improvisor.
