Jade Synstelien's Fat Cat Big Band has been electrifying crowds in the West Village's landmark jazz clubs since the early 2000's by way of bandleader/guitarist Jade Synstelien's all-original book. The visceral energy of his tunes embodies an elusive spirit of jazz, where creativity reigns and quality is not measured by dogmatic adherence to an archetypal style but by the emotional power of the music itself, and this music has power. This is the Williamsburg Music Hall's first engagement hosting the Fat Cat Big Band, who no doubt will heartily contribute the WMC's legacy and mission of celebrating and nurturing jazz.
