About
Passages – Life Service for a Tenor saxophonist who passed at age 102 as a member of the Harlem Blues and Jazz Band. He was the leaser of Billy Strayhorn's band in a Pittsburg PA. High School and went on to play with all the greats.
At his 100th Birthday Celebration in 2015 at AFofM Local 802 sponsored by The Jazz Foundation of America he explained, “I’m just overwhelmed by expressions of love. I had no idea, no idea, no inclination that I would live this long. Thank you all for bring expressions of love to this affair. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”
