Free Spring Concert with the Charles Turner Jazz Trio at Queens Central Library

Charles Turner recently won First Prize at Duke Ellington Vocal Competition in New York City and has subsequently taken the jazz scene by storm. The Charles Turner Quartet has performed at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center and other leading jazz venues in New York City. He released his debut jazz CD "Dreamers," which was produced by Grammy Award winning Drummer Ulysses Owens. Mr. Turner graduated from the prominent Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA on a full scholarship in 2014. In 2013 Charles was invited to participate in the prestigious Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead program, where he worked with Jason Moran, Craig Handy, Marc Cary, and performed at the Kennedy Center. He also won Best Jazz Vocalist awards at the prestigious Monterey Jazz Festival, and was a finalist at the esteemed Shure Montruex Jazz Festival Vocal Competition. Mr. Turner also performed with Bobby Mcferrin at Carnegie Hall.
Charles Turner has thrilled audiences around the world having performed in Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain and Russia and most recently Jazz At Lincoln Center in Doha Qatar, and now Queens Central Library in Jamaica Queens.
