Murphy describes the power of his trio with bassist, Eric Wheeler and drummer, Jeff “Tain” Watts. He explains, “Tain" and Eric provide unparalleled rhythmic and harmonic support. Not only do they lay out a comfortable foundation (sometimes a cushion) for anything musically that I’m trying to do, but they contribute while supporting me in a way that’s quite unique and often telepathic. They know when to give me a gentle push or a firm shove in order to allow the music to take off into the stratosphere, or go where it needs to go, or in some cases, come back down to earth!”
